The Indianhead Arabian Horse Society was founded in December 1980
in Barron and Eau Claire counties to promote the Arabian horse. Our goals are to
stimulate interest in the Arabian horse and to encourage the breeding,
exhibiting, use and perpetuation of Arabian and Half Arabian horses. We offer a
youth scholarship program to help youth in our area continue their education in
an agricultural field. And we offer a therapeutic riding program which allows
handicapped children to be like everyone else by competing in classes just for
them. Our members also enjoy participating in parades and a courage center.
In addition, the first weekend in June, we sponsor a class A show which draws
from a five state area as well as Canada. Our show strives to eliminate the
intimidation factor often found at the larger shows.
We are a small group of about 35 people who work very hard to put on this show,
but the love of our Arabian horse and the continued friendships with our members
is what makes our club a fun place to be! We have a high point system for all
levels of competition and we encourage all members to become involved.
When the show starts, we enjoy the exhibitors so much and have developed many
friendships, as evidenced by the fact that, even though our show is outside and
we get all kinds of weather, our friends just keep coming back year after year!
Our club members are the greatest workers, friendly people, and love the Rice
Lake weather. |
